Ágnes Bátory - president
Agnes Batory is an assistant professor and research fellow at the Central European University. She holds a law degree from ELTE Budapest and a PhD in International Relations from Cambridge University. Prior to joining CEU in 2003, she worked at the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office and had contributed to various research projects while in the UK. Her professional interests include comparative politics and public policy with a focus on European integration, transparency and good governance. She currently teaches graduate courses on these subjects including corruption control and public sector ethics, and contributes to professional training and curriculum development efforts internationally.

András Lőke - co-president
András
Lőke is an editor with HVG, editing the Trend section of the weekly.
Formerly he edited the Interview section, also being author to
articles on international politics and economy, mainly Middle Eastern
and European affairs. He has been the chairman
of the Soma Göbölyös Foundation, a civil organization for
endorsing investigative journalism, since 2001. As a grantee of the
German Marshall Fund of the United States, in 1994 he studied
grass-roots movements in the US. He took his MA degree from Eötvös
Loránd University, Budapest, in English and Oriental
Studies.

Péter Holtzer - curator
Partner at ORIENS IM. Peter worked for 13 years in the Hungarian asset management industry, managed two of the leading companies, and was chairman of the fund managers’ association for a few years. He started to be involved in pension system issues during that time, and participated in the preparation of the 1997 pension reform. He has taken part in pension consulting projects for the World Bank in Nigeria, Uganda and Bosnia, among others. Besides other pension-related engagements Peter has been the chairman of the Pension and Old Age Roundtable since 2007. In recent years he has been involved in projects which are important for him, such as, besides Transparency International, working on studies dealing with growth, employment, tax system, public education and roma issues; Common Purpose Hungary; Foundation for Self Provision; „Gézengúz” Foundation for Children with Birth Injuries. He is trying to spend much time with his two children, is a heavy reader of predominantly history-related books, plays football, is a frequent visitor to classical music concerts, and tries to support some of his musician friends with ideas and contacts.

| László Harmati - curator Currently the Deputy CEO of FHB Mortgage Bank, and CEO of FHB Commercial Bank. He earned his degree, at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences majoring in Finances, he started his career at the International Training Center for Bankers, as project leader and consultant. He worked for the Ministry of Finance, and for the Hungarian National Bank as Head of Financial Regugaltory Department. He has been working at the FHB Mortgage Bank since 2002 as Deputy CEO. Since 2006 he is responsible for FHB commercial Bank as CEO. He is the deputy-president of the European Mortgage Federation, and member of the economic committee. He has published and translated various articles on financial regulations. |

Noémi Alexa - managing director
Noémi Alexa is an independent consultant
focusing on public administration systems and the distribution and use
of EU funds with special regard to regional disparities. She worked for
Transparency International as the coordinator of the project Transparent
Use of EU Funds in Hungary. Former deputy head of the Department of EU
and International Affairs of the Ministry of Youth, Family, Social Affairs
and Equal Opportunity. She has wide experience in international relations
as well as in managing EU and international projects. She took MA degrees
in Spanish and Cultural Anthropology from ELTE University and holds a
Ph.D. in International Relations from Corvinus University of Budapest.

Ádám Földes - legal officer
Ádám Földes holds a J.D. from ELTE University, Budapest,
where he wrote his thesis on video surveillance. He also holds a Master's
degree in Sociology from ELTE University, Budapest and studied sociology
and law at the Humboldt University in Berlin on a Copernicus Scholarship
(2001-2002). Ádám has been working in the field of human rights since
2003. He conducts research, advocacy and policy development to promote
and defend the right of access to information. In addition to the right
of access to information, he specializes in issues relating to protection
of personal data and state secrecy. Prior to joining Transparency International
Hungary, Ádám led the Freedom of Information and Personal Data Protection
Program of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union (HCLU) between 2004 and
2008. He has extensive experience of engaging in law reform, providing
expert opinions at ministerial and parliamentary level, monitoring levels
of access to information in practice, and managing strategic litigation
and campaigning. Before joining the organisation Ádám has also contributed
to the work of TI Hungary in the field of whistleblower protection as
well as re Anti-corruption agencies in the frame of the NIS. He also provided
expertise on right to information issues in a number of countries in Central
and Eastern Europe (including Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Moldova, Macedonia,
Poland, Serbia, and Slovakia) as well Chile. He had acted as an expert
for the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) and
participated in debates in Brussels on the European Union Access to Documents
Regulation and on transparency of lobbying. He participated as a civil
society observer in two International Conferences of Information Commissioners
(Manchester 2006, New Zealand 2007).

Emese Hortobágyi - project manager
She has an MA degree from KRE-BTK (2006) in hungarian language and literature
as well as in communication studies, specialised in mass and institutional
communication. After a mediator training she attended an Erasmus Summer
Course in the Netherlands called Transparency in Public Communication.
As she got her degree she worked as a news editor. In 2007 Emese started
to learn international studies in ZSKF. Most interested in communication
of international organizations.

Judit Dietz-Blaskó - project manager
When she received her M.Sc. degree in Economics at the Budapest University
of Economic Sciences in 1998, she started working for the Hungarian National
Bank, at the Money and Foreign Exchange Market Department, later she joined
General Electric as a Financial Analyst. When in 2005 she received
her J. D. degree from ELTE University, she started working for Hungarian
Law Firms specializing in financial and bank law. In 2009 she decided
to pursue her original plan to be part of the fight against corruption in
Hungary. At Transparency International she is leading projects concerning
public procurements and she is organizing the activities for the Corporate
Supporters Forum. In her spare time she plays tennis, likes to travel,
and manages her mini book publishing company.

Tamás Szigeti - project manager
Tamás Szigeti joined the Transparency International Hungary in 2009 -
after graduating from ELTE University. He holds a J.D. degree. During
his studies he participated in several human rights organisations. He
was co-founder of the Constituinal Department's Student Human Rights Group.
In 2007-2008 at The Eötvös Károly Institute he took part in the Electronic
Freedom of Information Act compliance research. Throughout the university
years he spent one year in Paris at the prestigous Law School: Panthéon-Assas
Paris II, where he could broaden his legal understanding. After graduation
he began his Phd study at ELTE University. His main research fields are
freedom of information, freedom of speech and privacy protection. AT TI
Hungary he deals mainly with public procurment and freedom of information
issues.

Diána Sebestyén - office manager
She graduated from Debrecen University in 2000 as teacher
of English grammar and literature then enjoyed every moment of teaching
during the following 5 years. Her favorite period was being part of the
lives of 22 students as their headmastress. Her call for English was soon
followed by another passion: hospitality industry. While graduating from
Budapest Business School as economist of tourism and hotel she had the
opportunity to live through all the challenges of this beautiful field.
Her experiences gained as Marketing and Guest Relations Manager help her
out regularly during the course of her every day life.Civil sector and
TI Hungary are the next great journey for her. As office manager she supports
the daily operation of the TI office whereas her own projects motivate
her for further improve in different areas such as planning and management.
It is running and horse-riding that chill her out completely.

István Varga, the new Minister of Economy, took his ministerial oath on the 4th of May, 2009. István Varga economist suspended the membership in the Transparency International Hungary board.
